New Suffolk Ave Residence Mood Boards

Marie Fuer approached me to create mood boards for a new home on New Suffolk Avenue. The design vision was rooted in a California-inspired, high-end bohemian style while also blending rustic chic, natural wood and minimalism with carefully chosen details.

About the project

The clients wanted to explore multiple design directions while staying true to a cohesive aesthetic. My role was to curate and organize a large set of inspiration photos into a clear visual framework that helped them compare options, identify favorites, and move forward with confidence.

  1. Gathered and reviewed client-supplied and sourced inspiration images.
  2. Built structured mood boards highlighting key themes: natural woods, open spaces, minimal layouts and rustic accents.
  3. Balanced simplicity with character-rich details to reflect the 'minimal but chic' directive.
  4. Presented boards in a format that allowed side-by-side comparison, making it easier for the clients to express preferences.

Project results

The mood boards served as a visual decision-making tool, allowing the clients to sort through styles and select their preferred direction. The final boards established a strong foundation for the project’s aesthetic, in turn, anchoring the home in warmth, texture, and modern bohemian elegance.
